About NHC
New Hope Chapel’s Mission
Whether you’ve never been to church before, or you’ve been going all your life, you’re sure to find someone who came to New Hope Chapel under circumstances similar to your own. Our desire at New Hope Chapel is to grow together in our relationship with God; to know Him more fully and intimately; to build up one another to maturity of faith; to bond with each other to form a church family; to train our people for the work of ministry and to bring the Gospel of Christ to those around us.
Jewish Roots
One of our distinctives is our appreciation for the Jewish roots. While pastored by Gary Derechinsky, the church flourished in its understanding and focus on the Jewish roots of Christianity. During Jewish Festivals, the church learns about and commemorates the various Jewish feasts. In November 2009, the Church began a new ministry called “Christianity is Jewish,” where we began using the internet and radio to teach people about how Jesus fulfills the Jewish Law and Customs and help Believers understand the context of Christianity.
Transition
For 18 years, Gary Derechinsky, a Messianic Jew, served as our Pastor. In August 2010, Pastor Gary accepted a call to go to California to pastor a Messianic congregation near L.A. While we transition and search for a new pastor, our Worship Pastor Justin Hibbard, along with the Elders is sharing the responsibility for teaching and pastoring the congregation.
