MINISTRIES
We
recognize that at any given time, the local church is
comprised of both members and non-members working together
as a family to further the vision of the church. The
elders and deacons serve as leaders and examples to
promote the spiritual vitality of the church body. They
and the church at large are mutually accountable one
to the other. The elders and deacons provide leadership
in the church, but the final authority for decisions
is vested in the members.
New Hope Chapel has a number of ministry teams to provide
opportunities for people to contribute their time and
talents to the vitality of the church. Since all believers
have gifts of the Spirit, we encourage everyone to use
their gifts for the encouragement and building up of
one another. The following list of ministry teams will
give you an idea of some ways you can contribute to
the well-being and growth of the church.
-
The eXperience -
For today's youth ages 15-20, there's The eXperience.
This youth group is geared to meeting our high school
and early college age youth at the critical crossroads
of their lives. The eXperience provides a place
for teens to connect in a safe, fun and supervised
environment. We have rooms geared for the youth
with networked video games, game tables, TVs, and
a lounge area. The eXperience also provides a focus
on Christ-like living, spiritual growth and maturity,
and sound Biblical teaching. Part of the eXperience
includes praise and worship with next generation
music, short teaching or video and small group discussions.

Guest Services - It's
not uncommon for church visitors to feel uncomfortable,
uncertain, vulnerable, and even scared about a new
church environment. In fact, studies show that a
visitor will pass by a church an average of seven
times before actually entering it. Guest services
helps ease those discomforts by sensitively providing
a place where guests feel welcomed and at home.
While Guest Services aims to serve our visitors,
this hospitality ministry overlaps in assisting
everyone at New Hope Chapel. For more details, download

-
Life Development Ministry
- A once popular song entitled "Kids Under
Construction" sums up New Hope Chapel's Life
Development Ministry for children in first grade
through junior high. This vital ministry aims to
nurture and nourish children by laying important
Christian foundations in their lives. The Life Development
Ministry focuses on providing sound Biblical teaching
aimed at helping children learn and understand the
Bible, memorize Scripture, and learn how to apply
the Bible to everyday life experiences. For more
details, download our Life
Development brochure (PDF).
-
Life Development and
Biblical Seminars - While the worship service
is an important part of our life and growth in the
church, our adult small groups play a vital role
in developing Christ-likeness within us. Our Life
Development and Biblical Seminars focus on solid
Biblical teaching. One of our mottos at New Hope
Chapel is "From Old Testament History Springs
New Testament Hope." We believe that the Bible
is the inspired Word of God and applicable to our
lives. Therefore it's important to study God's Word
and to excavate the truths and mysteries within
its pages. For more details, download our Life
Development and Biblical Seminars brochure (PDF).
-
Missions - For those
interested in reaching others beyond the local area,
the Missions ministry educates the congregation
on worldwide missions, helps raise funds for those
interested in short and long-term missions and coordinates
missions activities for New Hope Chapel. We support
missionaries in Turkey, Chosen people Ministries,
Good News Jail & Prison Ministry, Art &
Dorothy Helwig Ministry in Nigeria, BGC World, Bowie
Crofton Pregnancy Clinic, Global Expeditions, Camp
Shoshanah and many others. From short term trips
to long term commitments, it is our responsibility
to reach out to the world.
-
Nursery
- What a blessing it is to have babies, toddlers
and small children at New Hope Chapel. Full of life,
they bring such joy to those around them. Since
we consider it such a blessing to have the little
ones in our church, we take great care in nurturing
and protecting them. The New Hope Chapel Nursery
provides a place for children to learn and play
while the parents can participate in worship and
fellowship without worrying for the safety or whereabouts
of their small children. The Nursery strives to
provide a positive experience for the children so
that they will come to enjoy being at church, which
will lay an important foundation for their future.

brochure (PDF).
- Prayer Ministry - Prayer
is an essential part of every Christian's life and
at New Hope Chapel prayer is central to our church
family. We hope you will consider being a part of
our various prayer ministries. For more details, download
our Prayer Ministry brochure
(PDF).
Prayer Chain
- The Prayer Chain assists in imploring the prayers
from the New Hope Chapel family throughout the
week. Connecting the congregation who experience
burdens and who express blessings, the Prayer
Chain is a way to keep our family informed to
specific needs and allows us to immediately respond
to those needs in prayer.
Special Needs Prayer Ministry
- Many who come to worship the Lord on Sunday morning
are carrying heavy burdens, whether emotionally,
physically or spiritually. Following the worship
service, all those who are experiencing such grief
and hardships are invited to meet with the Pastors
and Elders for prayer and counseling.
-
Women’s Ministry
- The women of the church have monthly S.H.O.P.
(Sisters Helping Other People) get-togethers at
local restaurants and homes on the 3rd Wednesday
of every month as well as other special events.
-
Worship - Our goal
at New Hope Chapel is not just to provide professional-sounding
music, but it is also to learn, to teach, and to
train each other to be mature, faithful worshippers
of God. We hope you will help us do just that, whether
it's by serving on one of our Worship Teams,
the Choir, the Sight &
Sound Technical Team or sharing in God's
praise in the congregation. For more details, download
our Worship brochure (PDF).
