Christianity is Jewish

Christianity is Jewish is a brand new resource website dedicated to teaching about the Jewish roots of the Christian Faith. Often times Christians fail to recognize the Jewishness of Christianity, but if you think about it, its roots are woven deep into Judaism.

  • God’s chosen people are the Jews
  • Jesus was a Jew
  • The disciples, including the church’s first leader, Peter, was a Jew
  • All 66 books of the Bible were written by Jews.

These are just a few examples of how the context of Judaism permeates the pages of Scripture. With such an emphasis of the Jewish Faith, how could one possibly interpret Scripture without considering its rich context?

Our desire is for people to discover Jesus Christ, to examine His life, His teaching, His call. But what Jesus says is only a three-year snippet of what was being said for 1500 years prior to His incarnation and is still being talked about today.

Not all are born Jews, but we all have the responsibility to know the God of this Universe, and a big part of knowing Him is knowing about this plan that He wove through the Jewish people and the land of Israel.

Christianity is Jewish is made up of a number of facets. First of all, we have this website, which will continue to grow in resources. We have gifted writers with a variety of backgrounds that will be sharing articles and devotions for your personal study. We will also be posting links to other resources where you can learn more about the Jewish roots of Christianity.

We have also begun broadcasting radio spots in the Baltimore area on Shine 95.1 FM (during the evening rush hour Monday-Friday) and on WRBS 1230 AM (between 11:40 and 11:50 AM Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). We have also listed a link to hear our sermon podcasts at New Hope Chapel. However, if you’re ever in the Annapolis area, we would love to meet you and get to know you. Our worship service is at 11 AM. For more information, visit us at newhopechapel.org, or email us or give us a call at 410-315-7755.
